Organization name

Name of the project developer that is listing the project.

Project name

The formal and complete name of the project as registered with the relevant standard or authority. This name is used in all official documentation and communications regarding the project.

Project description

A detailed overview of the project, outlining its objectives, activities, methodologies, and expected outcomes. This provides stakeholders with a comprehensive understanding of the project’s scope and impact.

Country

The nation where the project is implemented. We use the ISO 3166-1 officially assigned code.

Current project stage

This attribute reflects the current phase within the lifecycle of the project related to carbon credit production, up until the project goes into monitoring, verification and issuance cycles. The stages covered are Initial Assessment, Feasibility, Project Design, Validation, and Ongoing MRV.
Stage nameStage descriptionWhen does this stage start? When does this stage end?
Initial assessmentIdentifying, screening and documenting a project opportunity. It starts with identifying an opportunity to develop a project. The project’s basic information are documented.
FeasibilityThe project is undergoing a feasibility assessment to assess the conditions that make it suitable for further development. The project idea and initial assessment are approved and a feasibility assessment starts. The project is deemed feasible and a feasibility assessment document is completed.
Project designThe PDD is being written but has not been submitted yet to the VVBThe Project Design Document is being drafted. The Project Design Document is submitted for validation with a Standard.
ValidationThe PDD has been submitted to the VVB for validation and is currently being reviewed.Initiated as developers finalize the PDD and submits it for approval. The project received approval from the Standard.
Ongoing MRVThe PDD has been validated and the project is now cyclically monitoring, verifying and issuing carbon credits. The beginning coincides with the start of the first monitoring period.Ends with the last issuance.

First issuance date

The date when the project is expected to or has already issued its first batch of credits.

Registry ID

The unique identifier assigned to the project upon registration within the registry. This ID is used for tracking and referencing the project in all official documentation and transactions inside of the registry.

Methodologies

The approved system or set of procedures used to quantify greenhouse gas reductions or removals for a carbon credit project. These are defined by the standard and some refer to it as “protocol.” In some cases, projects can have more than one methodology.

Certification labels

Distinctions awarded to carbon credits indicating adherence to supplementary standards or programs beyond the primary carbon standard. These labels, which are applied by the standard, highlight that the project delivers additional social, environmental, or sustainability benefits.

Main mitigation activity

The primary action undertaken to reduce or remove carbon dioxide, selected from a predefined options.

Additional mitigation activities

Other actions contributing to carbon reduction or removal, chosen from the same set of options as the main mitigation activity. These can be selected in addition to the main mitigation activity.

Ecosystem type

The broad classification of the environment in which the project operates, grouping similar sub-types into overarching categories.

Ecosystem sub-type

The specific category within a broader ecosystem type, chosen to provide more detailed classification of the project’s environment.
